Awards ceremony at UP8 for the competition "My 1st short story in French"

On Friday 29th November 2024, 4 exiled students of the DU Passerelle at the University Paris 8, received their prizes for the best short stories. The theme of the year was "Odyssey".

The short story competition is a tradition at the University Paris 8. It is open to the students of the Académie de Créteil, and to the inhabitants and workers of the Seine-Saint-Denis department.

Alongside this competition was organised My 1st short story in French competition, supported by the AGILE project. This competition was open to the exile students of the DU Passerelle (University Diploma of French Foreign Language dedicated to exile students).

The winners of the competition succeded in creating great stories in french, language that they have been learning for less than 2 years, mixing elements of their lives, and great storytelling.

On the picture below, the three winners of the competition (from left to right): Arzoo Ferdous (2nd prize, From Kabul to Paris*), Mehrzad Dehghani Mofradpour (1st prize ex-aequo for From bed to Destiny*) and Farzana Mohammadi (1st prize ex-aequo, Man is a bird without wings*).
Ibrahim Salama, 3rd prize of the competition for The Migrator*, could not attend the ceremony.
