Dr. Valentina Demidenko, Kaunas University of Applied Sciences
Valentina Demidenko is the associate professor of the Department of Social Work at Kaunas University of applied sciences, the director of Jonava social services center and the psychologist of Lithuanian Red Cross (more than 20 years of refugee counseling).
Valentina has scientific articles and practical guides for specialists working with groups that have experienced social exclusion, trauma and violence, as the author and co-author. Valentina is appointed by the Ministry of Social Security and Labor as an expert on the integration of refugees in Lithuania. She also a member of the Board of the Association of Managers of Lithuanian Social Service Institutions, Member of the Lithuanian Union of Psychologists, Member of Lithuanian Trauma Psychology Association, Lithuanian Geštalt Psychotherapy Association.
Research activity and interest: integration processes of refugees and other persons experiencing special exclusion; informal social education; empowerment; traumatic experience.
Participating in the Advisor Board will provide opportunities to expand essential knowledge on the subject of refugee integration, and to share good experiences.
