Camille Hanon, Director of the MEnS Network

Before her position as Director for the MEnS Network, Camille Hanon worked as teacher as Foreign Language and as a counsellor for labor market integration to people in exile in various NGOs. She specialises in engineering French for Specific Purposes trainings and specifically language courses coupled with professional trainings for exiled students. Therefore, she can provide an expertise on this topic.

As the director of MEnS, she works at the intersection of asylum law, the rights of exiled students in Higher Education and French as a Foreign Language / French on Specific Purpose. The MEnS team continuously works to map initiatives, identify obstacles for students and universities and suggest common solutions to its members (whether it be advocacy to the State, toolboxes, fundraising, guides and documents, etc.) for a better access to HE for exiled students.

The very purpose of the project is the object of my work. The MEnS network is unique in the European landscape, due to national specificities. But even in France, very few associations collect data and knowledge about exiled students in HE Institutions and the MEnS is the national coordinator. Often solicited by government institutions for data or advice, it seems only natural to be able to participate in this project.
