Principles for institutional change and curriculum design to welcome refugee students in Higher Education

Our Work Package 2 group working on the "Landscape analysis of Higher Education crisis support mechanisms for refugee students" produced 10 principles to implement for improved curricula and institutional change.
This publication aims at giving the keys to improve the refugee students’ experience in Higher Education Institutions in Europe and strengthen their capacity for a better future.

The AGILE project’s main objective is to enhance refugee students’ experiences of Higher Education in Europe and strengthen their capacity for a better integration in the society.

This publication, produced by Prof. Silvia Melo-Pfeifer and Franziska Gerwers from the University of Hamburg, is the result of the activities conducted under the Work Package 2 since the begining of the project.

We organised :

  • 2 roundtables with university representatives from Europe and beyond,
  • 1 roundtable with university policy makers in Europe,
  • 2 public talks with refugee students,
  • 1 survey for refugee students.

These activities lead us to understand the needs of students and the levers that universities can now activate to improve the curricula of refugee students.
