We are very proud and touched to share the news of the successful completion of our 30-month journey into the academic resiliance and support of refugee and exile students and scholars! 🎉

The official end of the project, in May 2025, is now accompanied by the Erasmus+ Label for Good Practices awarded to our project by the French Erasmus+ National Agency! 🏆

This is one more public recognition of the quality of our project results our and of our partnership.

Rapport sur les 3 niveaux d'interventions (french)

Dans ce document, nous présentons des exemples concrets d'interventions sur trois niveaux pour la maîtrise de la langue française, l'intégration socioculturelle et l'engagement civique.

Ce rapport est le résultat des analyses du Landscape analysis on Higher Education crisis support mechanisms and initiatives for refugee students et des expérimentations Design plan of the 3-level interventions.

Le premier niveau concerne l'adaptation des programmes pour les étudiants exilés inscrits dans des cours de français langue étrangère (FLE). Le deuxième niveau comprend un groupe d'activités pédagogiques pour la participation sociolinguistique à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de l'enseignement supérieur. Le troisième niveau concerne la reconnaissance des compétences grâce à des badges ouverts numériques (open badges).

Last meeting of the AGILE consortium in Thessaloniki

From Tuesday 20th to Wednesday 21st May, the AGILE consortium gathered in Thessaloniki for its last transnational meeting, organised by our partner Web2Learn. As the AGILE project ends at the end of May 2025, this moment was the opportunity to look back at past events and consider future actions together.

On the 1st day of the meeting, we had the great honour of welcoming His Excellency Dr. Yevhen Shkvyra, Consul of Ukraine in Thessaloniki. His Excellency gave us a presentation on his work with internally displaced persons from Ukraine in Greece.

Then, we looked back on the progress we made since the beginning of the project and more recently on the activities of the Work Package 5. We also worked together on the last reports to deliver.

On the 2nd day of the meeting, we focused on the project management aspects. We focused on the financial part, on the quality assurance and on the sustainability of the project.

These two days were incredibly fruitful and we are very grateful for all the results and the actions we carried out together!

Policy brief: promoting the transition from refugee settlements to higher education: DOs and DON'Ts

This policy briefing aims at raising social and institutional awareness of the diversity of strategies to facilitate refugee students' enrollment and permanence in HE, and to facilitate the cooperation between formal and informal initiatives on the ground, and between refugee students' and HE institutions.

Sustainability plan through social action

This sustainability plan, written by our colleagues from Web2Learn Stefania Oikonomou and Katerina Zourou, presents and analyses the impact as well as the economic and social sustainability of AGILE's social actions undertaken by HEIs on individual and institutional level.

Based on two surveys they disseminated among students and colleagues who participated in the project, they managed to assess the impact of each activity and they also present an overview of recommendations on sustainability showcased per field of intervention.

Feedback on the event "Citizen Lab for Refugee Entrepreneurs in Lithuania" at KTU

On March 19th, 2025, the KTU School of Economics and Business hosted the Citizen Lab for Refugee Entrepreneurs, an insightful lecture featuring experts who work closely with refugee entrepreneurs in Lithuania.
The event shed light on the challenges refugees face when starting businesses, the support systems available, and the significant role entrepreneurship plays in integration and economic growth.

The lecture was led by Živilė Paužaitė, Head of Quality at Tech-Park Kaunas, and Viktoriia Palahniuk, Researcher and Project Manager at the Refugee Council of Lithuania.
Drawing from their professional experience, they discussed real-world obstacles refugee entrepreneurs encounter, explored available financial and mentorship support, and highlighted how fostering entrepreneurship among refugees contributes to a more inclusive and resilient economy.

The event attracted students, professionals, and social entrepreneurship enthusiasts. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions on innovative approaches to refugee business development, gaining deeper insights into the intersection of entrepreneurship and social inclusion.
